:: October 31, 2007 Baby's First Halloween
Kinda kicking myself for discovering this too late, but baby air freshener is pretty hilarious too. We're handing out full-size candy bars this year to rebel against people who give mini-playdohs and pencils. We usually only get about three groups coming by, we'll see if word gets out and we're overrun. Right now, time for some tag-along trick or treating with the neighbors. I think we might be the family you are rebelling against. I gave out many pack of teddy grahams. I have a toddler and he can't eat much of the candy. The look on some of the kids faces when they saw what we were giving out.....priceless. I will do better next year. Sometimes I give candy, but I usually try to find other things to give. This year is was actually Halloween pencils. Really. And only one group (older boys with a younger one in tow) looked/sounded disappointed. BUT, a very surprising number of kids were thrilled with pencils - visually and vocally. We must live in a strange town. ;) We had 149 trick-or-treaters come by last night, which was down from our usual 'just under 200'. So no way could I afford to give away full sized candy bars even if I wanted to. Such a cute costume, the air freshener! I guess my favorite last night was a big brother and little sister duo - an Orkin man and a cute little cockroach. Stop by my blog if you want to read more about our Halloween.
