:: March 12, 2007 Count Your Blessings
For the first time in either of our lives, we OWE taxes this year. $812 -- oof! One or both of us messed up on withholding this year. I'm so stupid with this stuff. Fortunately next year we'll have a big fat baby boy deduction, right? (And, unfortunately, far less income, in all likelihood.) In order to not cry I took to admiring and ironing and scanning the best pieces from a recent eBay purchase of little tiny scraps. Which of course I shouldn't have bought, now that we owe money. But anyway. eBay is NOT what it used to be with the vintage fabric lots -- have you noticed?, so I was pretty fortunate with this one.

Comments yikes! Sorry about the tax bill. The same thing happened to me several years ago and I had to pay $1500!! I keep pulling out vintage pieces to mix in with the new fabrics, wishing I could buy new ones as simple and perfect in design and color. Thankfully hubby did the taxes early so we have some time to save up the $783 we owe! I went up to my office manager first thing the next day and changed my W4 and added on an additional $20 per paycheck. It is the suck. On a good note, your fabrics are fabulous! I went to an estate sale last weekend and got a bunch of vintage fabric myself, and I know what you mean about the edges being a little more free-form. I rather like it!
